Currently, Tropical Depression (TD) 09W is located far east of the Mariana Islands (near 8.7°N, 163.3°E) with a central pressure of 1002 hPa, moving west-northwest. It is expected to continue moving west-northwest while developing.

According to the current forecast track, it is expected to begin affecting airport and aircraft operations in Guam around the 5th.The system is expected to develop into a typhoon.
