According to information released by the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) at 09:45 JST on August 28, 2026, Typhoon Saudel (No. 18) was located over the East China Sea (28.0°N, 121.4°E) as of 09:00 on August 28, moving west at 13 kt. The central pressure is 975 hPa, with maximum sustained winds near the center of 60 kt and maximum gusts of 85 kt.
Forecast Track
The typhoon is expected to continue moving westward and make landfall near Zhejiang Province, China, around midday on August 28. It is then forecast to weaken into a tropical depression by August 29.
Over the next three days, the typhoon is expected to bring heavy to very heavy rain to parts of the Jiangnan, South China, and eastern/southern Southwest China regions, with the potential for extremely heavy rainfall in localized areas.

Until around 07Z on August 28 (UTC), winds are expected to remain fairly strong, with average wind speeds of around 23–26 kt from an easterly direction (090–100°). Crosswinds exceeding 15 kt should be expected on the runways.
