Weathernews to Exhibit at APAC MRO & Flight Ops IT Conference 2026 | Introducing weather solutions that support airline operations through a joint case study with Vietnam Airlines
Weathernews will exhibit at the Airline & Aerospace MRO & Flight Ops IT Conference – APAC 2026, taking place in Bangkok, Thailand, on October 14–15, 2026.
The conference brings together airlines, aircraft, component manufacturers, and IT professionals from across the aerospace industry to explore the latest solutions and services while discussing the challenges and outlook for the sector. With a focus on improving operational safety and efficiency, optimizing operating costs, and advancing sustainability, the event attracts a wide range of aviation industry stakeholders.
Returning to the event for the second consecutive year, Weathernews will showcase its initiatives to help airlines identify weather risks and make better operational decisions across three formats: an exhibition booth, a case study presentation, and a Vendor Showcase.
Weather Solutions for Flight Operations at Booth No. 64
At Booth No. 64, Weathernews will demonstrate weather information, weather data services, and operational support solutions designed to assist airline operations control and flight dispatch teams.
Visitors will be able to experience how Weathernews services support responses to rapidly changing weather conditions and help enable safe, efficient operational decisions in adverse weather.
The Weathernews team will also be available for individual consultations. From weather data provision to solutions that support operational decision-making, we will introduce services tailored to the operational challenges and needs of individual airlines and industry partners.
Joint Case Study with Vietnam Airlines
Weathernews and Vietnam Airlines will jointly present a case study titled “Vietnam Airlines – Managing Severe APAC Weather Through Advanced Flight Dispatch.”
Flight dispatch across the Asia-Pacific region requires continuous assessment of rapidly changing and often severe weather conditions, including active convection, tropical cyclones, and seasonal weather patterns. At Vietnam Airlines, improving the quality and consistency of dispatch decisions is an important priority for maintaining safety, efficiency, and schedule reliability.
The presentation will introduce how Vietnam Airlines has integrated Weathernews’ advanced weather intelligence and operational support solutions into its flight dispatch environment.
Using high-resolution weather forecasts and real-time operational weather information, dispatchers can identify weather risks earlier and apply that insight to flight planning as well as pre-flight and in-flight operational decisions.
The case study will demonstrate how weather intelligence is being used to improve dispatch quality and strengthen operational resilience in challenging weather conditions.
Vietnam Airlines’ Vo Hoang Bao to Speak
Vo Hoang Bao (Bao Vo), a Flight Dispatcher at Vietnam Airlines, is scheduled to co-present the joint case study.
Bao graduated at the top of his class from the Vietnam Aviation Academy and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree at the National Economics University in Vietnam. He has experience in flight dispatch, operations control, and digital transformation in aviation operations, and has contributed to multiple projects involving flight monitoring, hazardous weather alerts, and operational decision support.
He also conducts research on aviation safety, leadership, and safety-related behavior, with papers published in international academic journals including the Journal of Air Transport Management, Safety Science, and Research in Transportation Business & Management.
Drawing on both practical and academic perspectives, Bao will discuss the use of digital technologies in airline operations and opportunities to improve situational awareness and decision-making.
Joining the Vendor Showcase
Weathernews will also take part in the Vendor Showcase, where it will introduce SkyAviators, a service that supports better responses to weather risk and more advanced weather-informed operational decision-making.
SkyAviators supports every phase of a flight—from pre-departure and en-route operations to post-arrival analysis. It helps airlines make safer operational decisions, select efficient routes, manage alternate-airport scenarios, and conduct post-operation reviews. The service also provides access to Weathernews’ proprietary high-resolution, high-accuracy forecasts for 15,000 airports worldwide.
Together with the exhibition booth and case study presentation, the Vendor Showcase will offer airlines and other industry stakeholders an opportunity to learn more about Weathernews’ aviation weather services.
Presentation details are subject to change.
