Current Status
According to information released by the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) at 12:45 JST on July 31, 2026, Typhoon No. 13 (DOLPHIN) was located near Wake Island (18.4°N, 161.4°E) at 12:00 JST on July 31, moving west-northwest at 11 kt. Central pressure is 910 hPa, with maximum sustained winds near the center of 110 kt and maximum gusts reaching 155 kt.
Track Outlook
The violent typhoon is expected to continue moving west-northwest and pass south of Chichijima Island on August 4 as a very strong typhoon. It is then forecast to continue on a westward track, with the potential to approach Amami Oshima and the main island of Okinawa. Heavy rain, violent winds, and high waves are possible in the Ogasawara Islands.
